Detail Preview on the Upcoming Apple iPhone 5

Many have predicted that Apple is going to launch iPhone 4 successors, the iPhone 5. Being available for quite sometimes, the iPhone 4 will welcome the new member of the family that is its little brother. Some of the specification details on the upcoming device has already leaked and spreading wide.

Keeping their lab door shut tight, apparently some news leaked from another way informing some specification on the new phone. It was just like when an Apple employee lost their iPhone 4 prototype on some bar and few days later the leaked spread out before it was officially announced. However, some news are matched, some are missed and even sometimes hoax. Let see what we can gained so far on the iPhone 5.

* Processor

Some source reported that this iPhone 5 has the first multi-core Apple A5 processor. No confirmation yet whether it is dual-core or even quad-core. Also reported that this iDevice has a dual-core graphics chip (GPU). Surely this will increase the phone’s performance including graphic. The iPhone 5 supposedly will bring the new iOS 5 under the hood.

* 4G Wireless Networking

By the time iPhone 5 launch, the two major US carriers has got its LTE network running. Verizon and AT&T will be the one to offer the new iPhone 5 and it is probably will be the first with 4G. If it is true then the phone will have average data rate up to 12 megabits per second downlink and up to 5 megabits per second uplink.

* Near Field Communications

Near Field Communications or NFC has been developed and apparently some source indicated that not just the iPhone 5 but also iPad 2 will be equipped with this technology. The most common use of this NFC feature is the mobile payments, where user can pay small purchases using their mobile phones.

* Dark Horse Possibilities

According to some sources the new Apple iPad 2 will have the SD card slot along with video-out port. Looking at Apple’s usual manner, we can expect that it is not impossible that these new features may also land on iPhone 5.

Of course, the iPad is a significantly larger device, giving designers more room to work with, so a full-size SD card slot seems unlikely in the smaller iPhone. Still, Apple could find room for an HDMI video-out port on this device, something made possible by the dual-core GPU mentioned earlier.

* Not Changing

Fed with silver spoon, iPhones are born to be famous and also follows the old Apple rule “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” iPhones are not changing much since the first version, the second version is basically the same, primary only the addition of 3G connection that occur. The third iPhone is the iPhone 3GS that only has minor change. So, don’t raise your hope high to the new iPhone 5.

The great iPhone 4 packed with retina display showing amazing resolution at 640 x 960 no other screen can compare. So, by following the Apple manner, it very uncommon for Apple to change the screen on the iPhone 5. Seeing the design on the first iPhone to the latest one, only the iPhone 4 that has quite significant difference. The iPhone, iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS have very similar shape size and weight. So, you could not expect significant design changes on the iPhone 5.

* Other features

The iPhone 4 has two internal storage variants just like its predesescor, 16GB and 32GB. It would unlikely changed in iPhone 5 as well though, but who knows if the phone will pack 64GB? The latest iPhone 4 equipped with only 5MP camera where some of the competitors provide 8MP and even 12MP. So, more powerful camera could be expected on the iPhone 5.

Ever since early summer 2007, Apple has a manner to launch or update their smartphone every year on early summer. So, this next generation iPhone could be launch or announced in this year’s early summer. Stay tune for more detail info on the upcoming iPhone 5.
