Not too successful on the first version, Samsung is still trying to try its luck on its Bada OS platform as India’s Financial Express reported. Samsung will probably launch Bada 2.0 version around July and according to Samsung India’s executive Dipesh Shah, Samsung have challenging plans for Bada OS. Samsung targeted to reach smartphone market share around 30% this year.
The current Bada market share is now between 10%-15% in India and it is quite tight to Android platform. According to Samsung, if the gap is not too far as they expected to be this state could be an excellent starting point to take the move.
The new Bada OS version 2.0 will offers some improvement and fixes as in multitasking support, NFC capability, web-centric application framework, improved UI, security enhancements and revenue model support for app publishers and developers. Once it is released the existing higher-end Bada smartphones like Samsung Wave and Wave II will probably get the update as well.
