Thanks to the XDA developers, DikeJ and DCQua who have brought a method to taste an experience to use a launcher on Sony Ericsson’s gaming phone, Xperia Play by porting the Xperia Play Games Launcher on the other Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10. Through this method, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10’s users are now finally free to use the method that currently allowed for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play’s users only. If you wanted to install the Xperia Play Games launcher on your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 phone, simply read on this article to learn how.
Before go on further to the instruction steps, we need to remind you that we are not responsible if your device gets damaged or bricked during the launcher process.
When you were sure about what would you do to your device, read and follow the installation procedure in order to get this launcher installed successfully. Here are the instructions of installing the Xperia Play Games Launcher on your powerful device:
1. First of all, we need to remind you that this method will require you to root your Xperia X10. In case you device has not been rooted yet, and then you have to root it first. The method reportedly does well when it is installed on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread based custom ROMs only.
2. If the method’s requirement to root your device is not a big deal to you and your device is also already upgraded to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM , download the Xperia Play Games Launcher package from here.
3. Once the required file has been completely downloaded, unzip the archive and you will be able to see 4 files apart from Xperia Play Games Launcher APK file.
4. Copy all the extracted files to your phone’s SD Card root.
5. Now download and install Root Explorer on your phone.
6. Once the root explorer has been completely downloaded and then installed successfully, the next step is launching it and copy playstationcertified.jar and xperiaplaycertified.jar files to system/framework folder.
7. Simply reboot your phone, when the files have been copied to system/framework folder.
8. Once your phone reboots, use any file manager from Market to install Xperia Play Games Launcher App [APK] present on your SD Card card.
Some first testers reported that the Xperia Play Games launcher does well as it was working properly. Apart from that, it is reportedly bringing some other advantages.
