Requirements:
To have the update works on your Nexus S makes sure your Nexus S running the stock Android 2.3.3 firmware and make sure it’s not rooted otherwise the update will not flash.
Download Android 2.3.4 update for GRI40 | GRI54 in the web.
Instructions:
- To start the process, simply download the update file depending on your variant from the download links above and rename the file to update.zip (.zip being the extension type).
- Now copy the renamed file (update.zip) to the root of your SD card.
- Now turn your phone off and restart it by pressing Volume up key + Power button and you should enter the bootloader.
- Select Recovery and you should see a triangle with an exclamatory mark inside. Hit the Volume up key + Power button a few times and you should be able to enter recovery mode.
- Once in recovery mode, simple select apply SD card update.zip and the phone should update itself to Android 2.3.4.
When you finished all the aforementioned steps right, then you will have your Nexus S running the Android 2.3.4 firmware and also has video and voice chat via Gtalk available. The instruction has been tested and confirmed to be worked well however please follow this guide at your own risk.
