There are several operating system that is provided in the market. Symbian, Android and iOS are the example about the variety of operating Systems.
Due to a large number of operating system, Symbian’s market share is shrinking. It may gets worst.
According to the Gartner’s research, Symbian never made any fundamental change on their system. Even the latest Symbian^3 is just the development of the Symbian S60. It is the UI that become the problem, the lattest version of Symbian has a quiet similar UI with the first Symbian S60.
If Nokia still wanted to conquer the market, they have to fix this problem. But if Nokia wanted to give up the customer to the rival, they may keep the old school operating system.
Like what we’ve read above that Symbian never changed their system revolutionary, it will surely influence the Nokia’s latest product. As we know that Nokia N8 will run Symbian^3 and it has a magnificent specification. What if Symbian ^3 doesn’t has a new UI? It may be left behind by the prospected customer. It is better to Symbian for making the new User Interface.
Meanwhile the rivals of Symbian, such as Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7 are battling for a customer in a market with their ability and also new UI.
