Tips of How to Copy your Contacts, SMS, and Other Data from Various OS to Android

FYI this process will overwrite any existing data in the selected categories on your Android device, so make sure you backup first.

First, you have to go to the Sprite Migrate site, preferably with your old phone. There you can fan the 1, 2, 3 step, click the step 1 link and choose the current device you own. Then download client software for your platform to compile all your data for migration into a recognizable file for sprite migrate. To do the step you must download the windows only PC application, and then in the PC companion provide the input path for your backup migration file, and select and output location. Just simply tap ‘Convert’ to begin the process.

Now is the final step, use your android phone to download the “Sprite Migrate” Application from the Android market then transfer the converted sprite Migration file to the root of your Android’s SD card or internal storage. Remember to put the file directly, not inside a folder.

The next step is to launch the Sprite migrate application, tap on the “migrate” option, then choose the appropriate migration file. After that you can choose the kind of data that you want to copy such as Contacts, Call Logs, SMS and Bookmarks. Then in the third tab, simple tap the Migrate button to begin the data transfer, wait the process for some minutes and it’s done.
