The trick itself is invented to overcome the carrier’s decision that imposes the data limit of their customer through a 3G hotspot tethering hack. As the Sprint’s customers know, Samsung Epic 4G is the carrier’s version of Samsung Galaxy S II and this device offers pretty powerful specifications as well as nice features. However, the data limit imposed by Sprint seems to bother the Epic 4G Touch users when they have to tether their other devices on 3G. Basically, the workaround will remove the data limit and is executable on rooted phones with deodexed EG30 ROMs. Once the method has been practiced on your device, you are going to enjoy free 3G tethering without worrying the data limit of the carrier will interfere.

Before starting with the instructions, first we need to remind you that we are not responsible if your device gets bricked or damaged during practicing the method. So, please read and follow the instructions carefully.

There are few requirements that need to be fulfilled in order to enjoy the unlimited 3G tethering on Epic 4G Touch. Here is the list of the requirements:

• Rooted Samsung Epic 4G Touch
• ClockworkMod Recovery
• EG30 Deodexed ROM [You can search XDA Forums for Epic 4G Touch to find a suitable EG30 Deodexed ROM]
• Epic 4G Touch NoCiq Package

Instructions to remove the Sprint’s data limit on Epic 4G Touch to gain unlimited 3G tethering:

1. First of all, you need to make sure that you have root on your phone with ClockworkMod Recovery flashed and any EG30 Deodexed ROM installed. The entire required file has been provided on the requirements section.
2. After that, you have to Download Epic 4G Touch NoCIQ zip package from link provided in requirements section and save it on your desktop.
3. When the downloading process has been completely finished, connect your phone to the computer, mount SD Card and copy the downloaded Epic 4G Touch NoCIQ package to SD Card root.
4. Once the zip file has been successfully copied to SD Card root, disconnect your phone from the computer and reboot your phone in ClockworkMod Recovery mode. In order to boot your Epic 4G Touch in recovery mode, power off your device and then power it back on while holding Volume Up key along with Volume Down and Power button.
5. When you were arrived in recovery mode, use Volume Up to move up, Vol Down to navigate down and Power button to select.
6. Now navigate to Install Zip from SD Card and from the resulting menu, select the Epic 4G Touch NoCIQ zip file your earlier copied.
7. Please wait for a while when the file flashing on your device.
8. Go to Recovery main menu once the installation process is complete.
9. After this, you need to Clear Dalvik Cache from Advanced options in Recovery mode.
10. Once Dalvik Cache has been wiped off, reboot your device.
